Please understand that the following Terms & Conditions are designed to protect the health and wellbeing of the cats in our care. They are the basis on which we accept cats into our
cattery and they constitute an agreement between Cats At The Paddocks and the owner. It
must be clearly understood and agreed that all cats are accepted at the owner’s risk.
Vaccinations: All cats must be fully immunised against Feline Panleucopeniavirus (FPV),
Feline Herpesvirus (FHV), and Feline Calicivirus (FCV). A booster is required annually.
Vaccination cards will be retained during your cat’s visit or a copy will be taken for our
records. Cats will not be able to enter the cattery without proof of vaccination.
Un-neutered cats – we regret that any un-neutered cats over the age of 6 months cannot
stay at the cattery.
Health and Wellbeing: The health, safety and welfare of our resident cats is our top priority.
Cats are checked at least every three hours between a minimum of 8am and 6pm. Checks
will: a) ensure that the cats are feeding and drinking normally, b) That the cat litter doesn’t
need changing due to soiling, c) the bedding doesn’t require changing due to soiling, d) that
the cat is behaving normally and isn’t showing signs of stress or illness, e) make a note of
any other concerns, for example damage to the cat unit.
- All health and behaviour issues MUST be disclosed prior to and at the time of boarding.
The cattery reserves the right to refuse to board any cat that we deem too sick to stay
with us.
- Only cats from the same family / household can share a pen and this is at the owner’s
risk. If aggressive behaviour is witnessed, we reserve the right to separate the cats for
their safety and the extra suite charge will be incurred by the owner.
- We request that cat collars are removed, prior to arrival. Any cat wearing a collar will
have it removed for the duration of their stay for safety reasons.
- Please inform us of any notable medical treatment your cat may have received in the
past. We will be happy to administer most medications according to your instructions
without any additional costs. However, specialist medications such as insulin injections
will incur an additional charge of £5/day by prior agreement.
- Medications must be provided in their original packing and with the instructions of your
veterinary surgery.
- The cattery cannot be made accountable should cats refuse to take the medication. In
this case we will make contact with the owners and/or their vet to determine how to
proceed.
- Routine care such as bathing eyes and brushing will be undertaken at no extra charge.
However, if extensive grooming is required on a daily basis this may incur an additional
charge by prior agreement.
- If your cat should appear unwell whilst in our care we will make every effort to contact
you or designated emergency contact person. We reserve the right to contact the
service of a veterinary surgeon. You are required to give details of your preferred
veterinary practice on the booking form and whenever possible, your cat will be taken to
them in case of emergency. If this information is not specified, or there are difficulties in
contacting or visiting this surgery, the veterinary practice used will be the Pilgrims
Veterinary Practice in Blissford, or in the event of out of hours, MiNiteVet in Ringwood.
- You agree to any investigations deemed necessary by the vet (e.g. blood tests, x-rays)
and that an appropriate course of action will be taken on the advice of the Vet. You agree
to Cats At The Paddocks administering any prescribed treatment the Vet considers
advisable. You also give consent for euthanasia should this be recommended to avoid
pain and suffering on welfare grounds by the Vet caring for your cat.
- If the cat is diagnosed, or suspected of having a contagious illness, they will be moved to
the isolation area. This a fitted for purpose room separate from the main cattery. In the
event of an illness requiring specialist isolation/veterinary nursing, they will be transferred
to the owners vet or Pilgrims Veterinary Practice.
- Clients are fully responsible for any veterinary bills incurred whilst boarding as well as a
mileage and visitation fee which will apply.
- Should a cat show signs of distress in the cattery, the owner or emergency contact will
be contacted. If we are unable to make contact, we reserve the right to transfer the cat to
the indoor isolation unit.
- If in the unfortunate event a cat should pass away whilst in our care, the owner will be
contacted (unless instructed otherwise). The deceased will be taken to the vet for safe
storage until the owner’s return.
Fleas and Worms: All cats should have been treated for fleas and worms before coming
into the cattery. Please ensure you are using a flea treatment recommended by your vet. In
the event that we find fleas, flea dirt or evidence of worms on your cat or in the pen, your cat
will be treated immediately. The cost of the treatment and the cost of the additional cleaning
of the pen will be added to the owner’s bill.
Hygiene: Our pens and all items used in the cattery are cleaned to a very high standard.
- Pens are cleaned daily and spot checked throughout the day
- No items e.g toys, blankets or cleaning items, are transferred between cats.
- Pens are thoroughly deep cleaned between use using high level disinfectant. This
ensures that the possibility of any cross infection being passed between cats is
minimised.
- All bedding, litter trays etc are changed between use.
Food: We stock a large range of cat food, both wet and dry. We endeavour to feed your cat
the same food they enjoy at home. However, an extra charge of £1/day can be added for
premium foods such as Gourmet Pearle, Lily’s Kitchen, Blink etc., if you do not supply these
for the duration of the stay. We please ask you to bring along prescription food or any special
diet and make sure your cat has enough for their whole stay. No deductions are made if
customers prefer to bring their own food. Cats are fed wet food twice a day with biscuits and
water available all day unless specified otherwise, or for those with special dietary
requirements who will be fed according to their needs.
Personal Items: We encourage owners to bring along any favourite bedding, blankets or
toys. Familiar smells and sights will help your cat settle in quicker. Please make sure the
items are clean and have been treated against fleas. We will of course provide a range of
blankets, beds and toys for your cat’s stay as well. Whilst every care is taken, we cannot
accept any responsibility for damage or loss of property such as collars, grooming
equipment, toys or beddings.

reserve the right to find alternative accommodation for your pet on a temporary and/or
